Saving Lives and Improving the World around us

Our History

In 2016, a group of young professionals came together in San Francisco and New York City to imagine a new approach to International Humanitarian Care: a thoughtful, engaging experience of strategic philanthropy, where we could use both our minds and donations to support and relieve the suffering of those in need, and create a better world for all, We want to live together in a community of like-minded peers, brought together by their generosity and our commitment to international humanitarian care.

Why Support IHC?

Collaboration for a Better World

One of the purposes of the International Humanitarian Care, as stated in its Charter, is “to achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character. We are now relied upon by the international community to coordinate humanitarian relief operations due to natural and man-made disasters in areas beyond the relief capacity of national authorities alone.

Donor Involvement

International Humanitarian Care has a unique partnership with our donors by sending medical volunteers around the world to provide medical assistance, health education programs, vaccinations, and humanitarian assistance.

Access to Essential Care

International Humanitarian Care coordinates the international response to humanitarian health emergencies.  IHC is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends. In the 21st century, health is a shared responsibility, involving equitable access to essential care and collective defense against transnational threats.

Children's Rights

International Humanitarian Care recognizes the right of every child to a standard of living adequate for the child’s physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development. Poverty hurts children’s development and, in turn, leads to lower income and health in adulthood. When child poverty is recognized as a denial of children’s human rights then people in positions of responsibility and power are legally bound to promote, protect and fulfill children’s rights. It is also imperative to recognize and address the specific discrimination experienced by young girls in impoverished areas.

We Care

International Humanitarian Care was founded on the willingness of doctors, nurses and other medical volunteers to provide medical care, health education and humanitarian assistance to people in need.
